JV- Star Valley, Cokeville & End of Year

Star Valley
We played Star Valley Thursday night.  The JV team beat SV the first time in 3 games and came to do it again. Star Valley had a big crowd and it was fun for the girls to play in a fun loud atmosphere.  We struggled the first game with silly mistakes that cost us too many mistakes such as passing, serving, and hitting errors.  We did not play bad just not to our full potential. We lost the first game 21-25.  We came out the second game on fire and won 25-16 which carried us to the 3rd game winning 25-17.  I'm proud of the girls for not giving up after losing game one and coming back to win games two and three.

Highlights:
Bailey Lozier- Served 100% Accuracy, and 1 Ace
Tayln Costello- 4 Aces, 1 Kill, 31 Assists, 7 Digs
Baylee Buchanan- 2 Aces, 2 Kills
Teerstyn Johnson- 2 Aces, 11 Kills, 1 Block
Eliza Nelson- 1 Ace, 2 Digs
Bekah Knapp- 7 Kills
Shawna Rule- 4 Kills, 1 Block
Vashti Fandek- 6 Kills, 11 Digs

Cokeville
The girls played great in their last regular season game in front of their home crowd.  It was fun to watch the girls come together and play so well.  We won the match in 2 games 25-16, 25-15.  One of our few 2 win games this season which was so nice to see.  I think sometimes the girls just like to play that 3rd game for fun. :)  We had 8 aces as a team which definitely was a big factor in the game.  Shay and Bailey came in the game and played great!

Highlights:
Shawna Rule- 2 Kills
Bekah Knapp- 3 Kills
Teerstyn Johnson- 5 Kills, 2 Blocks
Vashti Fandek- 5 Kills
Eliza Nelson- 2 Digs

End of Year
I'm so incredibly proud of these girls and how much they have improved from week one.  They have all worked so hard day in and day out to improve their individual skills and to come together as a team.  One of their season goals was to close the gap between Varsity and JV when it came to their abilities. They worked so hard to achieve this and give the Varsity competition to make them better as well.  Every single one of these girls learned how to play as a team and that the team comes before them as individuals.  They all grew up as individuals and learn more about the game.  I couldn't be prouder of my Juniors for taking on the role of leaders and showing the Sophomores how the game is played.  It was an enjoyable season and I hope the girls continue to improve their skills throughout the year and come ready to play next year!
