State
Douglas – Thursday
Going into state we were seated number 4. We opened State with playing Douglas, number one seat. Douglas was ranked most of the season as number one. They were tough. Our first game was not good. We weren’t passing well or serving. It just wasn’t pretty. But in the next two games, the girls came out with a fight. They fought hard but were not able to get the job done. We lost in three.

Lander - Friday
Our next game was against Lander. If we lost, we were out, but if we win, we would go onto Saturday and play another game. My girls came out with confidence and they knew they could beat Lander. They did not want to go home. Earlier in the season we beat Lander in Conference Duals, but lost to them at Regionals. They played really well! It was exciting to see them work together as a team. We passed and served a lot better! We changed our defense a little bit so we could cover their tips better. This seemed to help us because we did not let their tips drop. We were able to pick them up and then in return we could swing at the ball. As a team we served a 93%. Jalin had 5 aces and Tayln had 4 aces! Christina had 12 kills, Teerstyn had 10 kills and Erin had 9. Teerstyn had 6 blocks and Patience had 3. Brielle had 12 digs. Overall it was a great team effort and we won in four.

This was the first time a Pinedale team ever won a game at State in 3A in Volleyball. It was a great win!
Star Valley – Saturday
This was a tough game. We lost to Star Valley twice in season, and once at Regionals. We can play with them, but we always seem to come up with a little short of a win. Star Valley has a good team. They are pretty solid. We played well the first two games, and we were even ahead at times. But at the end of the first two games, we made some crucial mistakes and that is how they won. The girls played hard in the first two games. We lost to them in three games.

Over, I’m very proud of my girls! They had two main goals for the season. First one was to make it to State. The next one was to be competitive at State. I feel that we accomplished these two goals. We had a great season! I enjoyed every minute coaching these girls. They are an outstanding bunch of girls who have a lot of heart and determination! We will miss our seniors next year, but we are excited for those girls who will return to us next year. Thanks for coming to cheer us on, and thanks for all your support!

Regionals
Lander was a rough game. We did not pass well at all. And because our passes were not there, our sets and hits were not there either. They came out ready to play and they did not give up, but we couldn’t come up with a win. Lander plays a tipping game and sometimes it is hard to defend if you are not use to that kind of game. I know that if we meet up with them again, we will be able to win.

Since we lost to Lander we did not play until Sat. morning. We had the first game Sat. morning at nine against Jackson. If we lost, we would be out and we would not go to State. Jackson beat us in season, and at conference duals we beat them. We knew we had to pass better in order to beat Jackson. We did pass a lot better!! We served a 92% as a team and we passed much better. Erin and Christina had 17 kills, with Patience having 10 and Teerstyn having 5. Our hitters were doing a great job of putting the ball down!! Brielle did a great job passing and playing defense. She had 7 digs with Patience having 12 digs. Teerstyn had a great game. She had 6 blocks; she did amazing playing the net. Jalin had 52 assists; she played fantastic! Vashti came in off the bench and served 2 aces in the heat of the moment. I was proud of her, there was a lot of pressure on her at that time. Overall, all the girls came together and played with a lot of heart. They did not want this game to be the last.

By winning this game it just meant we needed to win one more game in order to make it to State. We played Mt. View, which we split with them in our regular season. My girls were ready to play. Overall they played great!! We took Mt. View in three games, that is how bad my girls wanted it. Erin had 14 kills, Christina had 10 kills, and Patience and Teerstyn both had 6 kills. We passed really well this game, Stephaine had 4 digs, and she did a great job on the right side. A lot of Mt. View’s tips and hits went to our right side and Stephaine was able to handle it. I was very proud of her. With this win, WE GO TO STATE!!!

Next we played Stat Valley for 3rd and 4th. Going into the game I knew it would be hard just because my girls were tired!! They just got done playing 8 games, and we had been in the gym since 8:15 in the morning. They came out in the first game and played really well. We stayed with them and then we beat them by two. The next three games we lost. We just simply ran out of gas. Erin led us in kills with 12, Patience had 9 and Christina had 8. Kristy Ann had a great game, she had great defense and she was swinging at the ball hard. She had 3 kills. Star Valley has big hitters, and I felt that my defense did a great job defending their hits. Tayln had a great game. She led our team with digs. She had 13 digs!! Brielle had 12 and Patience had 10.
This will be a short week for us; we leave on Wednesday to go to Casper. We play Thursday at 3pm against Douglas the first seat team on the other side. We have not seen them yet.

Cokeville - Varisty
Cokeville was a great game to end the season on! All three teams won, Freshman, JV, and Varsity!! They were all good games. Cokeville is a very good fundamental team; they have a really good coach. Our first match was awesome; all of my girls were playing well. We lost the second game because of our own mistakes, and won the third. The fourth game was just like the second game, we made simple mistakes. I was really proud of the way they came out the 5th game. We have not come out in a fifth game as strong as we did on Friday night. That game meant a lot to my seniors knowing it was their last game in that gym. They wanted it, and it showed! I was very proud of the way everybody played, but especially my seniors! Great Job girls!!

Star Valley
We went to Star Valley last Thursday. We played well at times. The first game we played with them, but we didn’t pass well. We lost that game. The second and third game we played really well. We were passing well, hitting great, and playing great defense. We beat them in the second game and then we were in the lead all the third game until the end. We made some simple mistakes and they won. In the fourth game we got stuck in one rotation and they got a big lead on us, and we couldn’t come out on top after that. I was proud of my girls, they never gave up. Star Valley is a tough team and I know we will see them in Regionals. It is tough to beat a team three times, so hopefully if we do see them, it will be our turn to win!

JV- Star Valley, Cokeville & End of Year
Star Valley
We played Star Valley Thursday night. The JV team beat SV the first time in 3 games and came to do it again. Star Valley had a big crowd and it was fun for the girls to play in a fun loud atmosphere. We struggled the first game with silly mistakes that cost us too many mistakes such as passing, serving, and hitting errors. We did not play bad just not to our full potential. We lost the first game 21-25. We came out the second game on fire and won 25-16 which carried us to the 3rd game winning 25-17. I'm proud of the girls for not giving up after losing game one and coming back to win games two and three.
Highlights:
Bailey Lozier- Served 100% Accuracy, and 1 Ace
Tayln Costello- 4 Aces, 1 Kill, 31 Assists, 7 Digs
Baylee Buchanan- 2 Aces, 2 Kills
Teerstyn Johnson- 2 Aces, 11 Kills, 1 Block
Eliza Nelson- 1 Ace, 2 Digs
Bekah Knapp- 7 Kills
Shawna Rule- 4 Kills, 1 Block
Vashti Fandek- 6 Kills, 11 Digs
Cokeville
The girls played great in their last regular season game in front of their home crowd. It was fun to watch the girls come together and play so well. We won the match in 2 games 25-16, 25-15. One of our few 2 win games this season which was so nice to see. I think sometimes the girls just like to play that 3rd game for fun. :) We had 8 aces as a team which definitely was a big factor in the game. Shay and Bailey came in the game and played great!
Highlights:
Shawna Rule- 2 Kills
Bekah Knapp- 3 Kills
Teerstyn Johnson- 5 Kills, 2 Blocks
Vashti Fandek- 5 Kills
Eliza Nelson- 2 Digs
End of Year
I'm so incredibly proud of these girls and how much they have improved from week one. They have all worked so hard day in and day out to improve their individual skills and to come together as a team. One of their season goals was to close the gap between Varsity and JV when it came to their abilities. They worked so hard to achieve this and give the Varsity competition to make them better as well. Every single one of these girls learned how to play as a team and that the team comes before them as individuals. They all grew up as individuals and learn more about the game. I couldn't be prouder of my Juniors for taking on the role of leaders and showing the Sophomores how the game is played. It was an enjoyable season and I hope the girls continue to improve their skills throughout the year and come ready to play next year!

Conference Duals- JV
Overall what a great weekend for Pinedale Volleyball, the Varsity and JV teams both came to show the North what Pinedale Volleyball is all about. The JV teams only played to games to 21 no matter the outcome, so we had to come out and play from the start, because to 21 makes for short games.
Cody
We opened up on Friday with Cody. We knew they would be a tough well coached team, but that didn't intimidate us. We came out strong and won the first game 21-15. We then let them back in the 2nd game and played back and forth with them for awhile before losing 18-21. I was proud of the girls for starting play right for the Varsity to follow. We only had 28 unforced errors this match which is a huge improvement for us as a team as we are young and learning to be consistent. Shawna Rule has really started to come on as of late and played great again this weekend with 5 Kills and a 50% hitting percentage while chipping in 5 assists from the opposite position. Bailey Lozier also stepped in and served well for us when we needed some key points.
Highlights:
Teerstyn- 6 Kills, 1 Block
Vashti- 5 Kills, 2 Digs
Baylee- 2 Kills, 1 Block
Bekah- 1 Kill
Lander
We played Lander Friday night. They are a team that we have played a couple of times before at tournaments. We knew we could beat them and they we just needed to play our game. We won the first game 21-16 and played fairly well. The second game we gave up too many points and let them get too much confidence. The games were to 21 and done and we ended up losing by 1 point 20-21. It was a good lesson for the girls to not play down and to keep the level of play high at all times. Tayln Costello is an amazing asset to our team that keeps our team positive while having 19 assists.
Highlights:
Bekah 4 Kills
Shawna 2 Kills
Teerstyn 8 Kills, 1 Block
Vashti 4 Kills, 2.07 passing average, 5 Digs
Baylee 1 Kill, 2.12 passing average
Ali 2.0 passing average
Jackson
We played Jackson on Saturday morning and wanted to come out with revenge. We had played them earlier in the season and lost. We came out strong and played great. We won the first game 21-18 and finished out the second game 21-17. I'm so proud of the girls for going for the kill and winning both games! Shay and Bailey both came in the game and did a great job not letting Jackson back in it. Ali Wadsworth & Eliza Nelson both passed amazing with a 2.8 average each! That is almost a perfect pass everytime.
Highlights:
Shawna- 3 Kills
Baylee- 3 Kills
Vashti- 4 Kills
Teerstyn- 5 Kills
Tayln- 12 assists, 4 Digs
Powell
We rounded out the tournament with Powell. We didn't know much about this team but knew we just needed to come play our game to win. That is just what we did, we won the first game 21-8 and the second 21-16. Shay and Bailey came in and played a lot this game and did great! I was very impressed with their composure and ability to keep it going. Good job girls! We had 9 aces this game which helped us come out with a victory.

Conference Duals - Varsity
The Lady Wranglers had a great weekend, both JV and Varsity! We had two games on Friday and two games on Saturday. Conference duals are a great opportunity to play the other side of the conference since we don’t get to play them during our regular season. (except Jackson) We played Cody and Lander on Friday and Jackson and Powell on Saturday.
Cody
Cody is a very good team! They are the top two teams right now in the other side of the conference. They are a very good hitting and defensive team. We lost to them in two, but they were fairly close games. (Conference duals in the best two out of three games) Each game we were getting better and better. I definitely feel that we can beat Cody. If we are able to throw some big blocks up against their hitters, we will definitely be able to play with them. Erin had a great game with 9 kills and Stephanie had a great defense game with 6 digs.

Freshman Lyman/Mt. View
The freshmen loved their first homecoming in high school. They attended the activities with enthusiasm but unfortunately got a little tired before the games at week's end! At Lyman they lost 23-25, 22-25. This was a tough loss because they were so close and wanted to win so bad. The next day they also lost to Mt. View 20-25, 23-25. These tight losses were tough, especially on a team that loves to win. One good thing was that the team passed, served, and hit better overall against Lyman than they did last week when they played them. Good stats against Lyman include Heidi's 222 hitting efficiency, Kyla's 600 hitting efficiency, and four girls who didn't miss a serve the whole match (Gilly, Talyn, Kyla, Shayla). Good stats against Mt. View include Gilly's passing average of 2.14, Tessa's 3 aces, Kassidy's and Kyla's .500 hitting efficiency, and no missed serves by Gilly, Hana, and Brenna.
Our game with Farson has been cancelled this week, so we will be working hard to improve our passing, serving, and hitting to get ready for our last two games next week (Star Valley Thursday and Cokeville at home Friday). Thanks for supporting our team!

JV- Mt. View 9/30/11
After getting back late from Lyman's homecoming we had to turn around and play Mt View at our homecoming. It had been a busy week, but I was proud of the girls for coming out to play. We had a hard fought battle with MV and played better than we did the night before, but couldn't pull out the win. We lost in 3 with scores of 17-25, 25-12, 18-25. We still served great with a 96% accuracy as a team. Our goal is to always be over 90%. Our passing was not as good as the night before and I think our hitting struggled from it. We passed 1.61 passing average which is not quite to our goal of at least a 2.0 every game. The girls are learning something different from every game that will make them a better team in the future.
Highlights:
Eliza Nelson- 2 Aces
Teerstyn Johnson- 10 Kills
Vashti Fandek- 5 Kills
Bekah Knapp- 6 Kills
Tayln Costello- 25 Assists

JV- Lyman 9/29/11
On Thursday we traveled to Lyman to play them for their Homecoming game. Our team is still learning that we cannot have a lot of unforced errors and expect to win the game. We gave Lyman a lot of points and made it way to easy for them. We will be working on that a lot in practice this next week. We ended up losing in two with scores of 19-25, 15-25. We did serve very well with a 97% serving accuracy as a team and we also passed very well as a team with a 2.2 passing average. Now we just need to put it all together with some big kills and this team will be awesome!
Highlights:
Taylor Connors- 18 perfect passes, 2 Aces
Teerstyn Johnson- 6 Kills

Mt. View Home - Varsity
This was a hard loss for all of us. This game went five games before Mt. View pulled out the win. During the first game, we fought hard but we were never able to come out on top. But in the 2nd and 3rd game, we came out fighting and I felt that we were playing our game. We were passing, setting, and killing the ball; plus we had a lot of blocks. We were playing great defense! Towards the end of the 4th and 5th game, we kind of ran out of gas. Our passing was not as good as it should have been, in return that hurt us on our setting and hitting. We also missed some important serves. We have to be able to serve and pass better against these harder teams. We will be working on these two things in practice this week as we prepare ourselves for conference duals this weekend. Patience and Erin both had 12 kills with Kristy Ann with 8 and Teerstyn with 7. Teerstyn had some great kills, but she was a blocking machine! She had 6 blocks. She had a great game!! Jalin had 48 assists. Brielle had 16 digs with Tayln having 11 digs.

Lyman in Lyman - Varsity
This week was a very long and exciting week with Homecoming going on. By Friday, I was feeling it, and I could just imagine what the girls were feeling like. We traveled to Lyman on Thursday, and it was a fantastic game. We came to play hard and win and that is what we did. It was Lyman’s Homecoming and they had a huge crowd. It was a very exciting and a fun game. The first game was a very close game, but after we won, we were in the groove of things. Overall, the varsity team served over 90% serving, which is always been our goal. Patience Jones had a great passing game! She passed 18 perfect passes!! We were running a faster offense than what we have been in the past. Erin Egle had a great game and she was killing the ball hard! She had 9 kills!! Overall it was a fun and exciting game!! I was very proud of my girls!

JV- Jackson & Lyman
We played Jackson and Lyman last week. We started out rough on Tuesday against Jackson and didn't show up to play. It was an important lesson for these young girls to learn that no matter what game it is you have be mentally ready and focused to play. We lost both games with a score of 20-25, 16-25. We had 5 aces and 11 Kills as team. These are definitely low compared to our stats in the past, but I hope the girls came away with something that they need to work on.
On Friday we played Lyman. This game we finally started to turn it around and play Pinedale volleyball again compared to the game before. We ended up losing the first game with a score of 23-25. We did play bad in the first game and were passing great, we just needed to clean up our unforced errors. That's just what we did in the 2nd and 3rd games. I'm proud of the girls for not letting the 1st game get us down and coming back to win the next two with scores of 25-11, 25-21. The girls learned a lot about errors and how we can not give the game away with silly mistakes that we can control. Teerstyn Johnson played a great game for us and had 17 Kills! That's pretty impressive. Ali did an amazing job passing with a serve receive average of 2.57 while Taylor Connors also played well backrow for us with a 2.08 serve receive and 10 digs. Bekah had 8 kills and 1 block. Shawna Rule really has improved so much and had 6 kills for us this game. I'm proud of how girls turned it around from earlier in the week and showed up to play.
Keep it up girls!!

Lyman - Varsity
Lyman was a conference game for us, and it was a great win. The girls played hard and because of their effort they won! Lyman put up some big blocks so it made us have to run a quicker offense in regards to our hits. I felt that we played good defense and we passed well. We actually play Lyman again this week, so we know what we have to work on in practice. This week is a crazy but a very important week. We will have two very important conference games; Lyman on Thursday and Mt. View on Friday. Mt. View will be our Homecoming game, so please come and support us. Highlights from the game:
Patience had a great passing game and had 4 aces, 9 kills, 2 blocks, and 7 digs

Freshman Lyman Tournament
Freshman Volleyball
After a tough loss to Lyman (15-25, 26-24) on Friday night, the freshman team got up early to attend a tournament in Lyman. This tournament was set up so that every team there played all other teams two games to 21. The Pinedale girls did very well. It was amazing to see how well they adjusted without one of their starting players who was sick. They worked hard and never gave up. The scores were Star Valley (21-18, 21-9), Green River (19-21, 21-13), Mt View (21-11, 11-21), Rawlins (21-16, 21-11), Lyman (14-21, 19-21), and Evanston (21-20, 21-15). Had they made fewer errors at crucial times, they would have walked away undisputed champions. However, when they left the gym they were in a two-way or three-way tie, depending on how the final game went. We haven't heard the results, but we hope it won't be determined by a coin toss. In the meantime, we tied for first! Notable stats include Gillian's 2.04 passing percentage and 14 kills, Heidi's 21 kills and 16 aces, Tessa's 10 aces, Kyla's 54 assists, and Talyn's 9 kills. Brenna and Victoria did a great job offering stability to the lineup with the last minute change. Way to go Freshmen!

Freshman
Big Piney, Kemmerer, and Jackson
The Freshman Volleyball team has had a great week! On September 13 they beat Big Piney25-10 and 25-14. On September 16 they beat Kemmerer 25-16 and 25-18. On September 20 they beat Jackson 25-13, 22-25, 25-18. I have been most impressed with how they are learning to be good teammates who encourage each other and work together to get wins. Volleyball is teaching us a lot of life skills, such as dealing with people, handling pressure, working hard, learning one's limitations, and being dependable. All of the players are learning to trust each other, are getting comfortable with the rotations, and are more versatile in playing more than one position. These skills should serve them well in the future.
Notable stats:
Big Piney game: Hana's 3 aces and 5 kills for a .625 hitting percentage, Tessa's 5 aces.
Kemmerer game: Heidi's and Tessa's passing 2.5 average with three perfect passes each and 4 and 3 kills respectively, Kassidy's 2 aces with no service errors
Jackson game: Heidi's 5 kills, Talyn's 4 kills, Gillian's 7 digs, and Kyla's 7 assists. The team effort to have 23 good passes, 18 total kills, and 13 aces clinched the win!
Coming up: Lyman at home Friday and the Lyman Tournament Saturday.

Jackson - Varsity
Jackson was a tough game for us. They came out serving hard at us. Even though we struggled at passing at first, our passing became better as we went. Our girls never gave up, they kept on fighting each game. We will learn from this game and move forward. We have Lyman this week and this is a conference game for us.
Christina and Patience had 4 aces, Erin had 14 kills, Christina had 11 kills, and Patience had 8 kills, and Teerstyn had 6 kills. Patience had 3 blocks and Erin with one block. Jalin with 39 assists. Brielle with 12 digs.

JV- Kemmerer
Another good night for Pinedale Volleyball on Friday night. All teams played Pinedale Volleyball and beat Kemmerer. The JV starters came out ready to play! I was very impressed on how they kept to our game plan and did not caught up in what Kemmerer was doing. As a team we had an amazing total of 21 ACES!! That makes life easy as a coach when our servers step up and serve hard and consistent. Out of a total of 47 we missed 6 serves which is 87% as a team for the whole match. Our goal is to stay above 90%, but with 21 Aces I know the girls were serving hard and we are working on improving our errors. I'm so proud of how the girls are playing as a team and cheering each other on no matter who is on the court. We win as a team and this past week showed that every girl on our team is important and it takes all of us to win. I hope they all continue to improve and push each other throughout the rest of the season.

JV- Big Piney
Pinedale had a good day yesterday against their Sublette County rival Big Piney. All teams came out strong and won all games. JV team started out slow in both games, but then started to play Pinedale volleyball and never looked back. They won the first game 25-11 and the second 25-7. The second was tied 6-6 then we got a sideout and never turned back only allowing one more point to be scored. A lot of girl got to see playing time and did wonderful. Bailey Lozier had a chance to set in the end of the first and the whole second game and did a great job. Baylee Buchanan and Shawna Rule did great playing all the around. They both had some kills and tough serves. Our serves were amazing in this match and we ended up with only 4 missed serves in both games and 19 aces. I'm glad to see the girls stay to their level of play throughout the whole match.

Baylee Buchanan 8 Aces, 4 Kills

Another good day for Pinedale Volleyball!! Our Freshman did a great job and got a win, Jv did awesome and pulled out a win, and our Varsity had a big win too!! We beat Big Piney in three. All my girls did great, but I would like to recognize four girls. Teerysten Johnson had a great game. She is only a sophmore and every game she plays she gets more confidence in herself and she gets better and better! She had 7 kills and one block. Good job "T" Erin Egle had a great game too! She had 11 kills, four aces, and five digs. Jalin Mckinney did a great job setting for us. She had three digs, 1 ace, and 31 assists! This is Jalin’s second year setting for us! Rawlins Tournament- JV
What a great weekend for Pinedale Volleyball. JV & Varsity had a great weekend in Rawlins and Freshman had a great weekend back at home. The JV team took second in their pool putting them in the Gold Bracket on Saturday. They beat Torrington in 2 and split with Glenrock and Mt View. They played great on Friday and had a 2.17 passing average for the whole day. This was key to most of our wins, making it easy for Tayln to set up our hitters. On Saturday we opened up with Lyman and beat them in 2 with scores of 21-14, 21-5. We had to go back to splitting up the JV and Varsity teams. A lot of sophomores stepped in and we did not lose a beat. We then faced Rawlins in the semi-finals after a 6 game wait. We came out sluggish and couldn't get back to playing Pinedale Volleyball. We lost 17-21,18-21. We then played Buffalo for 3rd place. We showed a lot of heart and finally started to turn it around after the last game. We lost the first game 16-21 then battled back to win the second game 21-17. The third game was only to 15 and we had a slump in serve receive. We lost 10-15 and ended up 4th in the Gold Bracket. I'm proud of the girls and how they showed up to play all weekend. They took fourth out of 16 teams with all but one being 3A. We still have a lot to improve on, but they are getting better and better every week.
Highlights:
Bailey Lozier- Served 14 points straight in the Lyman game! With at least 4 aces!
Taylor Connors- Passed with an average of 2.52 on Friday
Bekah Knapp- Hit very well on Friday with a hitting 37.5%
Shawna Rule- 9 Serve Aces

Rawlins Tournament - Varsity
Pinedale Volleyball had a fantastic weekend, all the way from Freshman to Varsity!!
Our Freshman took 1st in their tournament this week in Pinedale!! The JV took fourth in the Rawlins Tournament in the gold bracket and the Varsity took third in the silver bracket. As a head coach, I am very pleased with all the girls from freshman all the way to my seniors. They have been working hard for a couple of weeks and it’s paying off! I am also proud of my coaches for their dedication to this program and all their hard work! I’m very fortunate to have two great coaches to work with. Mandy Brisko as JV coach and Liz Coville as the Freshman coach.
Varsity
We had an up and down pool play. We had Glenrock, Torrington, and Mt. View in our pool play. We split with all three of them. In pool play you have two games to 21. We would only lose to them by a couple of points and then we would beat them by a lot in the next game. Because we split with all of them, that barely put us in the silver bracket.

During the lows, my girls hung in there and they came out fighting in the next match. I am really proud of the way they all played!! As we come away from this tournament, we know that we can really play with any team in 3 A. This week we are really going to work hard. We have Big Piney on Tuesday and Kemmerer on Friday, both are non-conference games.

We have Big Piney on Tuesday and Kemmerer on Friday, both are non-conference games.

The Freshmen have been working hard the last couple of weeks. After a tough loss at Mt. View in three (25-19, 22-25, 15-25), they rebounded with an exciting win against Star Valley at home (25-23, 28-26). They really showed their will to win in that one! Then they enjoyed staying home for the tournament in Pinedale on September 10th. They beat Green River (25-17, 25-22), Jackson (25-23, 24-26, 25-11), and Riverton (25-16, 25-16) to win the championship! There was a lot of excitement, especially in the nearly-completed comeback in game two against Jackson.
Highlights of the weekend include the following:

JV- Star Valley
This was an awesome game for us to learn a lot about our team and what we are capable of. We came out struggling to get a rhythm the first game and ending up losing 25-22. Bailey Lozier stepped in and gave us a much needed boost to let us battle back after being down. We learned from the mistakes we made and came out strong in the 2nd game. We had some great serves from Teerstyn to get a us ahead by 6 points. We did not have Taylor for this game, so it required girls to step out of the comfort zone and play all the around. Teerstyn and Baylee did great stepping into this role and we did not miss a beat. We ended up winning game 2 25-22. The girls were finally getting the confidence they needed to play to their full potentional. We battled back and forth in game 3 before finally getting a solid lead with some great serves by Baylee Buchanan. I'm so proud of how far the girls have come from the beginning of the season and I'm excited to see them keep growing for the rest of the season. Great job on battling back girls and getting your first conference win!

JV- Mt View
This was the first game where we were mixing some of the Varsity/JV girls into the rotation and you could definitely tell they were still learning to play together with one another. We tried a new line-up with a 6-2 offense and they did well for just learning it. We had a rough start in game one and was down 7 to start, but I was proud of the girls for getting things together and fighting back. We lost game 1 25 to 22. In game 2 we went back to a 5-1 offense, but still fell short with a 25-21 loss. This match gave us things to work on in practice as a team and individually and was definitely one to learn from.

Teerstyn 4 Kills, 1 Block

Star Valley - Varsity
Star Valley was a tough match for us. They were really a good team that just came down from 4A last year. We knew they would be tough. We came out strong on the first game and we were able to pull out a win. The next 3 games we struggled. We struggled passing and serving, and those two things are the key to winning a game! We will for sure take this lost, and learn from it. I would rather lose to them now, then later on in the season. We have a lot of work to do in the next two practices before we head to the Rawlins Tournament. I really like the Rawlins tournament, it is a great tournament to see the teams from the other side of the conference.

Mt. View - Varsity
We won all three games! My whole team played really well! It was an amazing game and
a total team effort! It was a big win for us because it was a conference game. Patience Jones had an amazing game, she just came back from a sprain ankle. They could not stop her in the middle. She had some fantastic kills and blocks from the middle. Our passing was great, and we had good defense. Brielle Buchanan did an outstanding job for us in the back row. She had some great digs. I love how my JV and Freshman teams were there cheering the Varsity on! All I can say, it was a LOUD gym that is for sure!! Thank you for all the parents who traveled to cheer us on too!!

JV Riverton Tournament
WOW... what a great weekend! The JV girls came to play and had something to prove to everyone that they were a team that would compete. We took second in our pool on Friday and never lost to a team both games the only two losses were splits meaning that they at least 1 out of 2. We played some tough competition and I was so proud of the girls for improving every single game and learning from their mistakes. On Saturday we played Riverton for another game, but it didn't count for pool or bracket play. It was a rough one to start with, but the girls proved that they can come back after a hard loss to play. That afternoon bracket play started, we had a bye since we were 2nd in our pool then played Lander to go the Semi-finals. We beat Lander in 2 games and moved on to play Riverton who had beat us good earlier that day. I am so proud for the way the girls came out with something to prove that the morning team was not the normal Pinedale volleyball and came out fighting. After some long rallies and battles and in 3 games we BEAT Riverton to move on to the Championship. We met Rock Springs in the Championship and gave them some great battles, but ending up losing in two. Rock Springs is a great fundamental team and it was a good challenge for us. I couldn't be happier for how the girls came together and played as team! Keep improving every day girls!

McDonald's Tournament, Riverton
Varsity
We had a fantastic start to our volleyball season. The girls came out playing hard and they played really well as a team! All of the girls gave 100% and it showed! I was really impressed with them! One of our goals is to play 100% in every game we play, and they did this! We had one rough game, but they came out in the second game and played a lot better! We won all of our pool play games and the first game in bracket play. Then we lost in the semi-finals to Wright. I was very impressed with all their effort! We played well and had a lot of fun!! Way to go girls!!!

Freshman Cody Tournament
The Freshmen did very well in Cody. In pool play they beat Cody and Jackson and split with Lander, which earned them a chance to play for first place in the tournament against Worland. They played hard, but they got 2nd place. Some of the high points were Heidi Feck's 15 aces for the day in serving, Kassidy William's 8 kills for a hitting percentage of .227, and the bench players' ability to contribute when they entered the game. Next week they will play Mt. View on Thursday.

1st Week of Two-a-Days!
What a long, but wonderful week! All the girls worked really hard!! As a coaching staff we are really impressed with the progress they are making in their passing and serving!
