Regionals

Cody  25 - 21, 25 - 11, 25 - 18
Cody is a tough team that has two key hitters.  The first game we were able to take them out of the equation, but we still came up with the lost.
My team passed well and hit the ball well in this game.  Brooke had 4 kills, 16 digs. Patience had 7 kills, 5 digs, and 2 aces. Erin had 6 kills, 7 digs, 3 stuff blocks. Christina had 4 kills.  Jalin had 20 assist and one ace.  The second and third game we had a hard time passing.  Kristy Ann had a stuff block.

Worland  vs Pinedale 25 - 15, 25 - 16. 26 - 24

Because we lost to Cody, we had to play Worland who lost to Mt. View earlier.  This game was the game that the loser goes home.  I was so proud of my girls, they came out playing tough and they played hard all three games!!  This was a great win for them!!  We were hitting a lot more, our passes were a lot better.  Brooke had 9 kills, 23 digs, and one block.  Patience had 9 kills, 4 digs, 5 stuff blocks.  Erin had 9 kills, 7 digs, and 4 aces.  Tayln had 4 aces and 6 digs.  Taylor had 19 digs.  Jalin had 31 assists.  Loni had 4 kills and Steph and Christina both had 2 kills.  Brielle had 11 digs.  My team played great defense and served hard to Worland!!  Because we won we got to play the next morning against Jackson.  I felt really good about playing Jackson.  We beat them earlier in the season, and we just lost to them in 5.  I knew we could do it!!

Jackson 25 - 17, 29 (us) - 27, 25 - 18, and 25 - 10

The first game the girls came out playing hard.  We struggled for a little bit, but we didn't give up.  The second game we were a head most of the game.  Then they caught up to us in the last points and it was close.  My girls never gave up and took the win!!  They played hard and they wanted it!  The last two games our passing was off and we weren't moving on defense like we should of.  They have some big hitters and they hurt us.  Brooke had a good game, she kept swinging and passing well.  She had 13 kills and 18 digs.  They were all over Patience but she still had 9 kills and 6 digs.  Christina had 8 kills, 4 digs, and one dig.  Erin and Tayln both contibuted with an ace. Loni and Stephanie both had one kill.

This was a hard lost.  Because we lost, we were not going to state.  Even though we did not make our goal this year, I'm still proud of each and everyone of them!!  They are the best group of girls, and I love coaching them.  They will just get better and better through pre-season and through the summer.  These girls are motivated to get in the gym and work hard at their skills so they can become better!

Jackson - Varisty in Jackson

We played Jackson on Thursday!  It was a great game and  a lot of people came to support us!!  However we lost but they fought till the end!  The scores were
Jackson     Pinedale
25              21
25              20
12              25
20              25
15              10

We knew that Jackson was going to be tough.  It was their homecoming and senior night.  Their emotions were going!  The first two games were close but we couldn't quite get ahead.  The third game my girls came out playing and playing hard!  We started out in another rotation and it helped!  The fourth game they played well!  The last game they came out with a 7 -0 lead on us and it is very hard to come back and win, especially when you are only going to 15.  By losing this game, it put us into third place going into Regionals and we will be playing Cody.  Cody took 2nd place in their conference.  Cody will be tough!  We played them before and they won, but we took them four games.  They are beatable!!  We have four practices and then off to Regionals!!  Stats - Brooke had 17 kills, 10 digs, two aces, one stuff block.  Patience had 12 kills, 6 digs, four aces, and five stuff blocks.  Patience had a great game all around!!  Erin had 10 kills, 3 aces, 7 digs, and 4 stuff blocks.  Christina had 7 kills and 7 digs.   Jalin had 43 assist, 5 digs, one ace, and 2 blocks.  Taylin had 9 digs and one ace, Brielle had 8 digs.  Kristy Ann had 2 kills and one block.

JV Conference Duals

Conference duals turned out to be a great weekend for the Lady Wrangler JV team. As a team the girls knew that this was their last tournament play before their final match against Jackson which ends the season for JV. All the girls came out strong and had something to prove. Our first match was against Cody a team with a lot of talent. Our first game was 25/20 Cody and eventhough we lost we were warmed up and determined to get the next game. We took Cody to 3 games winning the second 25/18 and the third game 15/12. Brielle Buchanan had 2 aces along with Tayln Costello and Vashti Fandek. The front row showed up swinging against Cody, Vashti Fandek had 11 kills and Loni Wells had 8 kills. Kristy Brandewie was our strongest defensive player with 11 digs.

The Lady Tigers was our next match and we were coming off a win and ready to play. This game was such a turn around for my girls they all came out and played to win no matter what. We had great team unity and even the girls coming off the bench contributed greatly to this win. Our first match was 25/21 and the second was 25/20. Winning matches in two games is something as a team we had set as our goal. Its very hard to come out strong and keep that momentum throughout each game. It helps when you have great servers like Taylin Costello who had 3 Aces along with Loni Wells Brielle Buchanan and Vashti Fandek who had 2 Aces. Also our front row showed its diverse talent with our opposite Kristy Brandawie who had 6 Kills and our outside Vashti Fandek who had 5 kills. Ali Wadsworth is one sub I put in wherever I need her in the back row and she always comes out ready to play and delivers great passes.

Saturday was a new day and we were still determined to win our next two games. The first match was against Powell who had strong hitters and tall blockers. In the first game we came back from being behind 8 points and finished 27/25 a very close and competitive game. Going into the second game I just told the girls to go out swinging and play scrappy. We finished the second game 25/22 another close game. This game was a huge turnaround for one of our middles who is just a freshman this year, Teerstyn Johnson who had 2 solo blocks and 5 kills, Its so rewarding seeing a girl finally come into her own and having fun playing the game. Vashti Fandek also had a great hitting game with 7 kills. Brielle Buchanan our libero had an awesome passing game with 14 digs. Tayln Costello came out with 4 aces against Powell.

Finally the last match was against Worland a team who had beat us twice outside of conference duals so we had to come out with a win. The first match was close and a fight coming to a final score of 26/24 and the second was 25/18. Loni wells was a huge contributor with 7 Kills along with 4 kills from Stephanie Straley. Bekah Knapp had a great serving game with 2 Aces. Brielle Buchanan was all over the back row with 15 digs. The girls wanted finish conference duals undefeated, leaving a lasting impression on the teams for next year and they surely accomplished that. I am so proud of this JV team they have accomplished all the goals as a team and they surely showed their true talent individually and as a team. Thanks girls for a fantastic Conference Duals and showing up to play every game you make my job so much fun and so rewarding.

Lyman, Cokeville, Mountain View

Lyman Eagles was a fantastice game for the JV Lady Wranglers, we came out strong and playing as a team. Bekah Knapp had 6 kills this game following was Kristy Ann Brandawie who had 4 kills. I love having such a diverse front row it really helps to bring huge hitters from every angle. Teerstyn and Kristy Ann had 1 assist block great job girls. Loni Wells had 2 aces and Brielle Bekah Cheyenne and Steph had 1 Ace. This match was a great win for the girls and way to take it to them in two.

The Cokeville panthers may be small but they are strong competitors. We knew they would swing hard every time so we had to give it right back. Bekah had 4 kills along with Steph and Teerstying with 3 kills. Brielle was working hard in the back row and showed it with 6 digs. Hattie Mckay and Bekah came into the game and contributed 2 Aces, great job Hattie thanks for being ready to play and coming in and delivering. Stephanie, Brielle, Cheyenne and Tayling also had 1 ace, great job girls. Cokeville was a good win for us as a team its just one step closer to our goal for a winning season.

Mountain View Buffalos was a team we had lost to early in the season so we were out to show them we were a new and improved team. It was a close and very competive first game the score was 27/25 a great win, the second game was 25/21. Brielle had a fantabulous serving game with 4 aces along with Bekah and Vashti who had 2. Vashti really had a learning game changing her serve up to keep it in and when to play smart on and off the net, so proud of her! The best part of this match was the front row we had so many great things happen. Loni had 8 kills, Kristy had 5, Vashti had 6 and Teerytsn had 2 it just goes to show how diverse we are as a hitting team and as individuals we have so much talent.

Cokeville - Varsity away

Oh, good old Cokeville!!  We will get you one of these days!! We came out strong and won the first game pretty well.  My girls were passing great, putting up blocks, and just hitting the ball!  Patience had an amazing blocking game, and Brooke had a great game all around.  She was passing well and putting the ball down!!  The scores were Pinedale 25 - 19, 22 - 25, 17 - 25, and 15 - 25.  By the second game our passing wasn't the greatest, and by the 3rd and 4th it went down hill.  They have such hard servers and they spot serve really well!!  Volleyball is such a mental game that they got into our heads by the 3rd game and we couldn't come out of it.  The stats:  Brooke had 10 kills, 3 digs, 1 ace, and 1 stuff block.  Patience had 8 kills, 4 digs, 5 stuff blocks. Erin had 5 kills, and Christina had 4 kills.

Lyman - Varsity away

We were on the road for Lyman.  This was another big conference win for us!!  The girls played hard all three games.  They played so well, I was so proud of them.  I just sat there amazed, they were playing very well.  Lyman is hard to beat in their gym, they always have a loud crowd.  But we too had a loud crowd that helped us a lot!!  Thanks so much for all that came!!  The score was Pinedale 25 - 13, 25 - 19, 25 - 19.  Patience had a great hitting game with 12 kills, 3 aces, and 4 stuff blocks.  Steph came out and had a good hitting game also, she is playing middle for us.  She had 8 kills, 4 digs, 3 stuff blocks, and one ace.  Brooke had 7 kills with one ace, Christina had 4 kills with 2 aces.  Jalin had 32 assists and 3 digs.  Erin had 6 kills, 3 stuff blocks, and two aces.

Farson - Varsity

We played Farson last Tuesday for our last home game.    The scores were Pinedale 25 - 17, 25 - 8 and 25 - 15.  My girls played very well.  Our goal was to come out strong and finish strong, and they did just that.
(I only have half of the stats for this game.  The rest must be in my office.)  As a team we had quite a few aces.  Patience had 4, Christina and Taylor both had three, and Jalin had 1.  As far as blocking, Erin had 4 stuff blocks, Jalin, Steph and Patience had 1.  More stats to come . . . .

JV Homecoming Week

Wow what a long but great week the JV & Varsity had! We started the week off with Jackson on Tuesday and i think all the girls had a great game! Tayln and Brielle had 3 Aces scoring us big points. Vashti was one of our big swingers with 9 kills followed by Kristy-Ann with 8! Steph had a great defensive game with 11 digs and 1 stuff block. Jackson was a great game for us, it really helped to start our week off with a win. Next opponent was Lyman and the JV did a great job finishing the game. We lost our first match but we came out and won in three! Loni had 2 aces this game with Cheyenne, Bekah, Brielle and Steph following with 1 ace. We had a great offensive game with big stats in the front row. Lyman being our Homecoming game it was a great win for the girls! Saturday was the last of the long week and we played a strong competitor Cokeville. This game we knew they would be great defenders and passers so as a team we kept swinging at them. The JV had a great game with Teerstyn having 2 kills and 1 stuff block. Hattie filled in for the middle a big position i needed and she did so very very well! This game was great for the girls to try new things like back row attacks and specialized hits! Overall the JV did great this week bringing in 3 wins for our season and developing new skills and growing as a team! Im so proud of them and we look forward to farson this Tuesday!

Cokeville - Varsity

This was our last game of a very busy week!!  In the first two games, my girls came out so strong and they played the best I have ever seen them play.  Their passes great, the sets were perfect, and we just kept putting it down.  I know Cokeville didn't know what hit them.  Cokeville is always a very good team!!  They are well coached and they always are very good at the fundamentals.  We knew they would be a tough team!!  We won the first and second game, and then lost the rest of them.  The difference between the first two games and the last three games was our passing.  We did not pass as well and they served to us hard.  If you don't have the passes then we don't have the perfect sets and then we don't have the hard hits!    Our offense wasn't the greatest and I felt that we were playing defense most of the time on them.  My girls never gave up.  This is a great game to learn from!!  I love playing Cokeville because it makes us play harder and we have to up our game!  We will learn from this game and in return this will make us a better team.  We will see Cokeville next week, and I hope to bring home a win!   Brooke had a great game with 7 kills, 11 digs, and 7 aces!! She was on with her jump serves!!  Patience had 12 kills.  Erin had 11 kills, 10 digs and one ace.  Christina had 7 kills, 10 digs, and one ace.  Stephanie had 2 kills and Loni had 1.   Taylor had 18 digs and 3 aces.   Jalin had 23 assist.  Brielle had 4 digs.

Lyman - Varsity

We had a good practice on Wednesday, just to get ready for Lyman.  We hadn't seen Lyman yet so we didn't know what to expect.  We did know that they always put up a three block in the middle.  We moved Erin back to the opposite side and Loni and Stephanie shared the middle hitter spot. They both did great in this position.  We got Patience back and for the most part we had everyone healthy.  We had a great win against Lyman.  We took Lyman in four games.  The scores were Pinedale 21 - 25. 25 - 19, 25 - 19 and 25 - 11.  Brooke had 14 kills, 15 digs and an ace, Patience had 14 kills and 2 aces, and Erin had 10 kills.   Jalin had 36 assists.  Taylor had 16 digs and 2 Aces. This was another great conference win!!!

Jackson - Varsity

On Tuesday we played Jackson!  What a big game for us, not only was it a conference game but it's JACKSON!  From what my girls tell me, they are just as much our rivals as Big Piney is.  On Monday we learned that Patience got really sick and she would be unable to play in the game against Jackson.  Then after the powder puff game, we had some more injuries.  I was concerned especially when I see three of my starters with ice packs on different parts of their bodies right before the game. :)   Not a good sign, but that didn't stop them!  They bucked up and played an amazing game against Jackson.  I have heard from various people that this was the best game they have seen the girls play so far!!   We took Jackson in four games.  The scores were Pinedale 26 - 24, 25 - 13, 22 - 25. 25 - 20.  In the third game we had a moment where we made silly mistakes and they took the lead.  We were unable to come back in time.  BUT we came out strong in the fourth game and won!!   Brooke had 16 kills, 21 digs, and 3 aces.  Erin had 8 kills and one stuff block, Jalin had 24 assist and two aces.  Kristy Ann came in and played well off the bench.  She had 2 stuff blocks.  Tayln also came off the bench and played great!  She got two aces for us!!  All the girls played well, I was very proud of them!!

HOMECOMING WEEK!!!!

This was such a busy week for our girls!! They had three tough games, but they also had everything else that goes on during this week!!  I'm proud of each and everyone of them for staying out of trouble, focusing on the games, and staying healthy!!  :)

Varsity - Worland

This weekend we went to Worland.  It was a rough day for Pinedale.  All three teams lost, but they lost with a fight.  JV won the first game 25 - 18, second game lost 25 - 27 and lost the third game 25 - 18.  Varsity lost in three games.  25 - 13, 25 - 19 and 25 - 20.  Here are some stats.  Brooke Hocker, Erin and Jalin had pretty good games.  Brooke had 6 kills, 14 digs, and 1 ace,  Erin had 6 kills.  Jalin had 18 assists and one ace.  We changed our line-up and it showed.  We came out flat and we just couldn't get it together.  Brooke had a great game all around!!  She was hitting the ball, passing the ball, and she was up for blocks!  We will definitely learn from this game and move on.  We have a busy week ahead of us and some pretty important conference games.  We play Jackson, Lyman, and Cokeville.  Cokeville is not in our conference but they are always tough.

Big Piney - JV

Tonight Pinedale played Big Piney at home and had a great game. JV won both matches and saw great things from all of our girls. Hattie Mckay did great subing in for the middle along with some great assists from Taylin Costello. Stephanie Straley and Bekah Knapp put down kills and scored big points. All of our girls played a great game tonight! We are headed to Worland on Saturday and look forward to bringing home another WIN! Great Job JV!

Big Piney - Varsity

Tuesday was a great night for Pinedale!!  JV and Varsity rocked the house!!  Varsity did well!  We were able to take Big Piney in three games.  I felt it was a total team effort!!  Maggie got to get in the game and she had some good passes!!  Stephanie went middle for the first time and she adjusted really good!!  Let me just say that she had not practice the middle position so I felt like she did great!!  Tayln got to go in for a short time in the third game, but in that short time, she played hard!!  I also felt like the girls did great when it came to hitting our specialized hits!!  Overall it was a great night!!

Rawlins 3A Tourn. 9/10 - 9/11 - Varsity

This weekend we went to Rawlins and played in the 3A Tournament. The girls did great!! We played the best we have played yet!! Our goal was to make it to the GOLD bracket, and we did. Not only did we make it to the gold, we got to the Consolation championship game. Even though we came up a little short, and lost, they played fantastic! We got 6th place out of 16 teams!!  We will learn from this weekend and we will work hard to improve. Great job girls, great weekend!!
Brooke and Taylor

Mt. View at Home 9/2 - Varsity

This was our first home game and I'm sure the girls were a little nervous.    Our first game it took us a little bit to get going.  This is something we have to work on because we need to come out strong at the beginning of every game.  I thought my girls never gave up and they played hard.  We still need to work on defense and we need to eliminate the simple mistakes.  If we improve on these two things than we will be more competitive all around.  I thought all the girls did a great job, and they never gave up.  There is a lot of talent on this varsity team.    Brooke had 12 kills, 3 aces, 2 stuff block and 19 digs.  Christina came out and had 8 kills, 1 stuff block and 1 ace.  Jalin had 22 assists.  Taylor had 16 digs.  Loni had 7 stuff block with Patience having 3.  Erin had 4 kills and and 3 stuff blocks.  Erin is trying a new position on our opposite side, I'm hoping that not only can we be a threat from the outside and middle, but we can be a threat on our opposite side too.

The girls were really excited to show off in front of their family and friends!!  We had the middle school volleyball teams come and they did a bake sale for us!!  It was fun to have the whole volleyball program under one roof!! I have awesome coaches from middle school to high school, to individuals who will help just to help!!!  Thanks to everyone!!

                                         SACRED RIM

As a team each year we take a hike up to Sacred Rim!  It takes us about 45 min. to reach the top.  The view is awesome!!  At the top we do some team building activities and we share some of our favorite quotes.  The girls seem to enjoy it and we look forward to it every year.

Two-a-Day Practices

All the girls worked hard during the first two weeks of two a day practices!! We worked a lot on the basics, including: passing, serving, setting, hitting, defense, and offense. Six hours of practice a day is a lot of time playing volleyball!! I'm guessing they were pretty tired and sore!!

Team Camp July 2010 - Greely Colorado

We took two teams down to Greeley Colorado!  This was a huge team camp that consist of 70 teams from all around.  We played a lot of games and we learned a lot!!  We had three fun filled days of playing volleyball!!
